• At Rainbow, we recognise that at whatever age a child starts pre-school, they will have different interests and skills and it is our aim to extend those and develop their confidence and learning through play.
  • Curriculum

When your child starts at pre-school their key-person will meet with you to learn more about your child. This provides their starting point for your child’s learning journey throughout pre-school. The Learning Journal is our way of documenting your child’s progress through the Early Years curriculum.

  • What your child will need at Pre-school

Please do not send your child to Rainbow in their best clothes as they will have lots of opportunities to get involved in messy play. A change of clothes in a named bag is advisable, although we do have some spare clothing in case of emergencies.

Clothes that are not too difficult to manage when going to the toilet are a good idea, and all clothing and shoes should be labeled with the child’s name. Shoes should have soft soles and no laces or buckles, plimsols with Velcro straps or elastic are ideal. In summer, please include a sun hat in case we are outside and ensure that sunscreen has been applied as appropriate.
