‘Rising Rainbows’ is a separate sessional programme designed in the main for our older children, who will be given priority for these sessions where they are gently introduced to a school like routine and structure whilst continuing to learn through play. Ideally we like to start introducing one or more of these sessions to them in the September before they are due to commence Infant School.

  • Fees/Funding

We accept 2 year funding, 3/4 year funding and 30 hour funding. We also accept childcare vouchers and payments by bank transfer.

Three & Four Year Old Funding
Nursery Education Funding (NEF) is available for 3/4 year olds. This is available the term after your child’s third birthday and entitles your child to 15 hours free each week.

    Two Year Old Funding
There is also 15 hours per week funding available for 2 year old children if you meet the following criteria – in receipt of free school meals or in receipt of working tax credits with a household income of less than £16,190 per year.

    30 Hours Funding
30 hours funding is available for 3 & 4 year olds where both parents are working (or the sole parent is working in a lone parent family).

We are open from 9am – 3.30pm to support families who qualify for this.

30 hours funding must be applied for by the child’s parents the term before you wish it to begin

Find out here if you qualify for 2yr or 30 hour funding

Currently Essex County Council is providing funding for 38 weeks per financial year which means that each child’s fees can be fully funded and no top-up fees are payable. However, we do ask parents for a healthy snack fee which is payable at the start of each half term, payable in advance. This enables us to provide a healthy, more interesting snack and we hope also encourages the children to try new foods and tastes.

For non funded places the fees are payable half-termly in advance, even if your child is absent plus the healthy snack fee as above.

Each child’s place and attendance at Rainbow is conditional upon continued payment of fees, so please speak to the supervisor if there are any difficulties in making the payments, or in the case of a prolonged absence.
